For the last month we have been trying to adopt a new family member and it is much harder then we intended... Just a cute Desert tortoise, that simple, right, wrong! If you do this the right way it is a bit of a process. First a biologist came out to check out our yard, took measurements, and told us where the burrow needed to go. She also told us we needed a watering bowl, special flowers and the shrubs it needs to eat, oh and the gate barrier so it can't dig out, because if they can see out they dig out.... But the burrow was quite a project, you think you can just dig a little and call it good but its quite a bit more, 8ft by 4ft and three feet down on a slope then a channel underneath that, then add 106 degrees outside while Tyler dug the new baby's burrow. It took two days and after its done you put the plywood on and bury it, but first they come out to make sure its all perfect.... I'm going to cry if its not...As soon as we get her I will post the pics...
